Group classes take place in the fields and woods of this lovely estate. While Nordic Walking can be done on most surfaces, open parkland is the ultimate surface for learning the technique and this is what is used here.
Class routes are varied to give participants views of the house and gardens and up over the towns of Bray and Greystones. Classes last for up to two hours and those trying the technique learn alongside those who have been walking with the group for sometime.
They are a very sociable way to keep fit and also a good way to get to know other people who enjoy exercising outdoors. All that is needed is a pair of runners (waterproof if possible) and loose weatherproof clothing and poles will be supplied.
Dairine is a qualified Nordic Walking Instructor (International Nordic Walking Association) and a keen hill walker and would be delighted to help others learn and enjoy this activity. Classes are held at the weekends and during the week by arrangement. Please contact Dairine at 086 1936861 or dnuttall@eircom.net for more information.
Nordic walking was recently featured in Fit Magazine a Supplement of the Irish Independent, click here to see the article.
