Every Sunday is Fun-Day at Killruddery House and Gardens

13/07/2011

Each Sunday this summer kids can take part in an exciting array of action-packed children’s workshops. Every week will look at a different aspect of the Killruddery Eco-System, encouraging children to explore the world around them. What better way to keep little minds occupied on a Sunday afternoon than learning all about farm life, trees, plants and insects. The workshops will be taught through the use of arts and crafts so everyone will have something special to take home at the end of the day to remind them of what they learnt about.

The schedule for the next 3 weeks is:

17th July – Egg-citing Sunday.

Ciara is simply dotty about Hens, so here is her chance to help little fingers collect some hen eggs and then to seek out the shy white silkies after which we will trace and cut out little hand shapes to turn into your very own paper Hen to take home.

24th July – Busy Bees.

Get busy with Michelle, have some fun discovering some busy-bee facts and make some Honey bees on sticks. Make sure to take some time before or after to have a look at the Killruddery Bee Hives (from a distance!) with your Children.

31st July – Teddy Bears Picnic.

Its the Teddy Bears Picnic day at Killruddery,  so we will be having fun making all things Teddy Bear and Picnic like, fuelled by your imagination. We are going to repeat this workshop three times today to ensure lots of people can take part. 12, 2pm and 4pm.

The workshops will meet every Sunday at 3 o’clock at the Fruit Room Studio in the Walled Garden Project. Kids of all ages are invited to come and join in the workshops and are free to wander in and out depending on concentration levels! Parents are required to stay with their little ones or near by during the workshops.

Hope to see you there!
